MAC Naked Honey Collection [June 11 Release]

MAC Cosmetics Naked Honey Collection

Launch Date: June 11, 2009 (North America), July 2009 (International)

Bees do it… now M•A•C does it! Honey that is! As ancient and exotic as Kohl, great beauties have long revered the natural restorative powers of the Golden Elixir.

Introducing our limited edition Naked Honey collection – three aspects of golden warmth and sun-made sweetness for the body, layered with two decidedly different honeycomb-derived fragrances – celebrating the secret lives of Queen Bees. Bridal makeup

Here are some bridal makeup I've recently done:

Applying false eyelashes

False eyelashes give you an instantly glamorous look - and they're easier to apply than you'd imagine

There are two types of false eyelashes: full lashes, which add density to the entire lash line, and individual lashes, which can be used to fill in sparse areas or dramatically open up the eye area. Full lashes are easier to apply and don't look as natural, but individual lashes require a steadier hand and a bit more practice. Whichever style you choose, follow these tips to make your lashes look as natural as possible:

  • Before you apply the lashes, line your upper lash line with a mahogany eyeliner and smudge it slightly to create a smoky effect. This will help to conceal the lashband.
  • Apply the glue to your finger, lightly pull the lashband through it, and wait a moment. With individual lashes, dip the end of the lash in the glue.
  • Apply the false lashes as close to your natural lash line as possible; press the lash down for a few seconds on the outside of the eye. With individual lashes, apply them to the outside corners of the eye and work your way toward your nose. For the most natural look, all you need is a few individual lashes per eye.
  • After you've applied the false lashes, curl them along with your real lashes and apply mascara.
It's best to reserve this look for special occasions; long-term use can lead to eye irritation from the glue, and even infections.

How to press your pigments - broken eyeshadow

I found this trick on a fashion forum, I thought i would share with you guys. Its pretty cool to fix your broken eyeshadow & you can use it all over again.

"After some time browsing on the web for make up and make up tips i came across a tutorial for pressing your pigments!

i think most of us have found that sometimes loose pigments are hard to apply, they fall over your cheeks or are too messy to work with, even storage can be hell sometimes if not closed properly. And the best use is for the broken eyeshadow! you can get them back on shape even if they're pretty much destroyed.

this tutorial is foolproof, sort of, well it looks really easy and after looking up for other tutorials this recipe looks the best and easiest and all claim they work even better than loose, the colors are more vivid and bold.

Things you'll need

1. MAC pigments or similar
2. Alcohol (sounds weird but it works because it evaporates so quickly, and its just for mixing btw)
3. little spoon (a little spatula may work better)
4. little bowl (id go even smaller with the size of the bowl)
5.Empty refills

Now mix two spoons of pigments and one of alcohol (it all depends on the size of your refill but keep the proportion)

Put the mixture on the refills

If there are some waves you can use a crochet needle or something like that to flatten them

Youll have to wait until the alcohol evaporates, it may be from overnight to 24hrs and then you are ready to press it.

You can use a coin whatever the size of refill you are using. just put a light weight fabric between your eyeshadow and the coin or even a piece of tissue paper and press it, really hard, you may use clamps for this purpose."

Top Runway Looks ( InStyle beauty )

Proenza Schouler

THE LOOK
Bold lips and asymmetrical waves
EXPERT INFO Makeup artist Diane Kendal combined red and neon-pink shades of lipstick to get this striking hue. The rest of the face was left dewy and virtually bare. Stylists Didier Malige and Omar Lopez used GHD Mini Styler irons to create the finger waves—rocking the iron back and forth from the crown to the ends—and then swept hair to one side for a dramatic look.

Valentino

THE LOOK Metallic eyes and natural buns
EXPERT INFO It's no surprise hair was pulled back into a bun at Valentino, but this season’s updo was more natural looking than those in the past. The eyes took center stage with a heavy metallic shadow on the lids as well as below the eyes. Black liner on the inner rim defined the look.

Carolina Herrera

THE LOOK Smoky eyes, pale lips and rolled hair
EXPERT INFO "The look is dramatic with a softness to it," says makeup artist Diane Kendal, who contrasted a strong eye with a soft lip. Using a MAC eye kohl in Smolder (black), she lined the eyes and blended it into the crease. The lips were layered with MAC lip conditioner and Bubbles lipstick. The hair, created by Orlando Pita for T3, contrasted with the sophisticated clothes in the collection. He parted the hair off-center and then rolled it away from the face, twisting it around the head and securing with bobby pins.

Stella McCartney

THE LOOK Glossy eyes and easy buns
EXPERT INFO To create an effortless look, hairstylist Eugene Souleiman used Wella Punk Chic paste to add texture to the hair, before pulling it into a bun. Makeup artist Pat McGrath applied Nars The Multiple makeup stick in Copacabana to highlight the brow bones and layered Make Up For Ever pink powder, Max Factor mineral blush in Roses and Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder on the cheeks to give them dimension.

Herve Leger

THE LOOK
Lined eyes and stick-straight hair
EXPERT INFO "This look is a little bit punk," says makeup artist Val Garland, who used MAC eye kohl to line the eyes, and followed that with a coat of Fluidline liquid liner. MAC Strobe Cream was massaged into skin to give a radiant glow. Bumble and Bumble stylist Dennis Lanni used a flat iron to get models' hair stick-straight.

Derek Lam

THE LOOK Soft makeup and a faux bob
EXPERT INFO "The look is sensual, fresh and modern," says makeup artist Tom Pecheux of the soft gray smoky eye he created using MAC eye shadow in Concrete (purple-gray). For the equally fresh hairstyle, Orlando Pita was inspired by the chin-length bob. He created a deep side part and then pulled the hair back into a low bun, letting it fall loosely over the ear.

Yves Saint Laurent

THE LOOK
Dramatic eyeliner and a bouffant updo
EXPERT INFO Leaving the skin matte and the lips and cheeks neutral, makeup artist Tom Pecheux was able to concentrate on the eyes, which were elegant yet dramatic thanks to liquid eyeliner and a row of false lashes. To get ample height in the bouffants, hairstylist Julien d'Ys added hair extensions to the teased updos.

Matthew Williamson

THE LOOK Raccoon eyes and straight hair
EXPERT INFO The show’s theme was all about rock and roll, so makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury fittingly rimmed the eyes with black MAC eye pencil and dark shadow for an all-around smoky eye. Stylist Paul Hanlon kept the hair simple with oil spray and a flat iron.

Gucci

THE LOOK Bold green eyes and soft, sexy curls
EXPERT INFO "The hair was strong with a sense of mystery," says Kerastase stylist Luigi Murenu of this Veruschka-inspired look. He applied mousse for added volume, curled the hair from mid-shaft to the ends and finished with a shine spray. For the eyes, Pat McGrath layered a combination of green shadows (Make Up For Ever Flash Color Pot in Turquoise, CoverGirl shadow in Turquoise Tempest and Max Factor shadow in Moody Mint) on the upper lids, and completed the look with black liquid liner, black mascara and individual false lashes.

Ralph Lauren

THE LOOK
Fresh makeup and sexy waves
EXPERT INFO Hairstylist Guido Palau gave the models’ hair a center part and then used a curling iron to create soft waves. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux simply patted a ruby color (from a lip pencil he put on his fingertip) onto lips to give it just a touch of color.

Roberto Cavalli

THE LOOK
Smoky cat eye with ‘60s-style hair
EXPERT INFO Both hairstylist Guido Palau and makeup artist Pat McGrath named Brigitte Bardot as their inspiration for this super-sexy look. To achieve a dramatic eye, McGrath applied dark Max Factor MAX liner in Night Club around the entire eye, as well as in the crease and inside the lower lash line, blending slightly for definition. The liner was then topped with Max Factor shadow in Domino Effect (a black hue) and lashes were coated with Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme mascara.
